Who Am I?

A Dedicated Musician

I began playing bassoon as a 6th grader in North Texas. I received a highly organized and highly planned North-Texas style music education all the way through high school. After I graduated, I began teaching right away. I taught marching band at several different high schools and began teaching bassoon lessons and giving masterclasses all over the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

I completed my undergraduate studies at Southern Methodist University with former Principal Bassoonist of the Dallas Symphony, Wilfred Roberts. I graduated with my Bachelors of Music in Bassoon Performance and Music Education. Here I became fortified in my love of music and teaching.

Afterward,  I matriculated to the New England Conservatory of Music where I studied with Principal Bassoonist of the Boston Symphony, Richard Svoboda. I graduated with my Masters in Bassoon Performance.

Now I am a bassoonist in The Orchestra Now under the direction of Leon Botstein. We have weekly concerts at various venues in the area, such as Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Fisher Center, our home-base.

I really enjoy working with people and love the thrill of understanding when something difficult “clicks” for the first time. Sharing my past teachers' values and legacies is one of my major goals when it comes to teaching and playing, and I hope to share them with you.
